Task Force Created to Make Recommendations for Business Case Management Following a Disaster
(DES MOINES)–The Business Disaster Case Management Task Force created by the Iowa Legislature during the 2010 session will meet Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 1-5 p.m. at the Rebuild Iowa Office, Conference Room 2 in Des Moines. Among topics to be discussed by the 16-member Task Force at Tuesday’s meeting, is a review of 2008 disaster response business programs, and business community needs following a disaster.
The role of this task force, created by House File 2422, is to recommend steps for providing assistance to businesses following disasters by consulting with experts, businesses impacted by previous disasters and other interested stakeholders. These recommendations will provide guidance to develop a statewide business disaster case management framework.Recommendations will continue to be formulated in upcoming Task Force meetings, and are due to the Governor and the Iowa Legislature by Nov. 15.
