Disaster Assistance to Businesses, Private Non-Profits, & Individuals

It is hardly news that many places in Iowa are facing some of the most challenging natural disasters in their history. Tornadoes and floods have been more common than not in the last month. If you haven’t been directly affected by these events, it’s likely that you are acquainted with someone who has been.
On May 25, 2008, the President of the United States declared certain counties in the state eligible for federal disaster assistance. As of June 29, the following counties are included in the Presidential Disaster Declaration and are elilgible for individual and business assistance: Adams, Allamakee, Benton, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Cedar, Cerro Gordo, Chickasaw, Clayton, Crawford, Dallas, Davis, Delaware, Des Moines, Fayette, Floyd, Franklin, Fremont, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Iowa, Jasper, Johnson, Jones, Kossuth, Lee, Linn, Louisa, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Mills, Mitchell, Monona, Muscatine, Page, Polk, Scott, Story, Tama, Union, Wapello, Warren, Webster, Winneshiek, Worth and Wright.
